Extra Curricular Activities

Due to COVID-19 outbreak timings for extra curricular activities may differ.

The social aspects of school life are important for several reasons:

  • Primarily, to provide an opportunity for pupils to experience ‘living through Welsh’: extending their ability in the language by using it in a variety of situations.
  • To develop all facets of the pupil’s character and personality through providing experiences and encouraging social skills outside the confines of the classroom.
  • To offer an opportunity for children to take part in a number of activities both public and competitive e.g. sports, concerts, plays etc.
  •  To share in the culture and traditions of Wales by participating in Eisteddfodau and other local national events.

Many varied activities are organised outside lesson times during the lunch hour and after school. Every child has the opportunity to participate in these. It is a proven fact that the greater time a child spends speaking Welsh, the better will be his/her mastery of the language.
