What do assessments mean?

The results of the assessments will provide you with an independent picture of the development of your child against National Curriculum standards.

The following table of the standardised results of year 9 pupils in Wales should help you measure how he or she is performing in relation to other pupils of the same age within the same school and nationally.

Nevertheless, what is important is that your child works to the best of his or her ability, and we shall do our utmost to work with you to ensure this. Making the most of your child's talents is the aim and your child's levels may vary from subject to subject. Not all pupils are the same.
