Our pupils have the opportunity to have their say, playing a key role in the day to day aspects of school life.  This opportunity is available in their subject classes, subcommittees, during registration and of course in School Council meetings.

The school believes in allowing everyone an equal chance to express their opinion in preparation for the real world, where they will be required to make decisions.

“There are rich opportunities for pupils to express their opinions, shoulder responsibilities and undertake leadership roles.  For example, through the school cabinet and various forums, pupils undertake various roles enthusiastically, which develop them to become active and responsible citizens." School Council

PRIMARY

We are a group of lively pupils that have been elected by our classmates to represent them. There are 12 members to the School Council. We meet on a regular basis to discuss the issues that arise in our school. Our main objective is to discuss key issues and to share ideas on how we can make Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Morgannwg a happy school for everyone.

SECONDARY

Every child from Year 7 to 13 has the opportunity to voice their opinion openly in discussion sessions held at registration time. Various subjects that cause concern to pupils can be discussed, or opinions can be voiced regarding what they would like to change within the school. Every registration class has two members that feedback to the Head of Year - then two members from within the whole year represent Year 7 in Cabinet meetings, together with the remaining representatives, the Senior Prefects, members of Staff and the Head Teacher.

Eco Council

As a school we are passionate about the environment and the world around us.  The eco council ensure that all the school is running in the greenest way possible, creating posters and checking every classroom in their turn.  The council also helps raise awareness of environmental issues in advise their peers on what small actions they can make to help save the planet.
